    simple math?

trying to get cell E38 to show total of cell H38 minus D38. H38 has a fixed number and D38 is the payment box. If
nothing is in D38 then E38 should show nothing.

I didn't think it was bad enough to flag a violation, but it doesn't really capture the question. The question isn't at all about how to do math (you know, maths :-) ). It's about how to show a blank if an operand is blank.

    Re: simple math?

I'm just amazed how this 'rep' system 'works'.

You got rep points for coming up with that formula and I've worked on VBA solutions for a day and got SFA!

Good job I don't get BW&T about rep points!

    Re: simple math?

That's the way it works, yes, for all of us. It all depends on the OP. I've worked on threads for days and got nothing. Swings and roundabouts.
