Is there any function in Excel where the keywords are filled based on the description?

Hi, is there any function in Excel where the keywords are filled based on the description? Basically, I have a lot of products purchased and I have the products name in the description. Now based on the description from invoices, I have to manually search the products from the product list and the specific item ID and fill that item ID in a column. I was wondering if there is any function where the key sentence is identified from the description column and based on that automatically fill the item ID in another column.

For example, one of the products we bought is "Protin powder x100gram" the product description is "Protin powder x100gram - Natural sweetener " and the item ID in my file for that product is "PP100", so I was wondering if there is any way to match the product name from the description and input the relevant item ID number in the column next to the product description.

    Welcome to the forum.

The broad answer is possibly yes, but we'd need more specific detail.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

    Categorize keywords in Excel?

Then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to receive the first result. Drag the fill handle down to the cells where you wish to apply this formula, and all text strings will be grouped into the precise group you require. but I'd need more specific detail

Where's the formula you are proposing, dani.aniston96???

I don't think this has anything to do with categorising keywords, actually.

Sorry AliGW, I attached the file now. Please take a look. By the way, I tried the Vlookup function and tried the Index match function both doesn't seem to work, maybe I am doing something wrong or I don't know how to use them.

It's still not clear to me exactly what you are trying to do, but my best guess right now is that you are trying to do a "fuzzy" lookup -- a text lookup where the search string and the text in the database are never exact matches. If I'm right, you may find that you want something that will do a fuzzy lookup, like this add-in from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=15011
