Add a straight line at value zero in waterfall chart?
Seems simple but can't figure it out - just trying to add in a straight, constant line at Y=0 for a waterfall chart.
Can anyone give a quick summary of which options I need to select to do that?
I have a waterfall chart with data points ranging from 80,000 to -50,000 and just want a horizontal line at 0 on the Y-Axis so it's easy to see that point instead of having an awkward gap between the data bars.
Can we assume you are using the built in specialty waterfall/bridge chart? I know that many of these new specialty charts are fairly rigid, with relatively few formatting options. My first thought, if your version of Excel allows it, would be to format the vertical axis so that the horizontal axis crosses at 0. This will move the axis up to the 0 position. You probably will want to have the axis labels remain at the bottom of the chart. If so, format the horizontal axis so that the axis labels are at the bottom.
