Issue with Pivot Chart not Displaying Pivot Table Info Correctly

Hello all,

I've registered on the forum today because I'm stumped on an issue I'm having with a Pivot Chart I need to make for the company's dashboard for a project we have. I've looked through Google for a good 20-30 minutes and I still can't figure it out.

The issue only seems to be with the chart in "1. Num of Req. by Month" tab, specifically with the year 2020. When unfiltered it's fine, but the moment 2020's filtered by individual months nothing comes up, and some reason when I create slicers on the dashboard it shows November and December twice, when there's no reason for it to (I checked the data and nothing comes up for the "greyed" out November and December months).

Does anyone know what could be causing this? The data seems to be fine since I can display the whole year of 2020 without issue, it's just the moment you filter it by months that the issue occurs.

I can't attach the document because it's too big, and I can't include the link in my post because I've just signed up, but if you PM me I'm happy to share the Dropbox link. But I'm hoping my explanation of the issue is enough for someone to figure out what could be the issue. I've tried redoing the data but nothing changes.

Edit: To clarify, someone needs to look at the whole spreadsheet, not just a snippet because it'll mess up the data and to be honest I don't know if the issue is with the data or if it's something else, but again I'm hoping my explanation provides enough information on what's going on.

Please post a link. In order to do this, add TWO spaces to the URL. You can remove everything before and including www.

No, it's not working - 'file doesn't exist' message.

Get a share link from DropBox for the file and use that (with a couple of spaces added).

Your 2019 year data has 'November ' and 'December ' as months (with spaces on the end) which is what causes your month duplication.

I'm not really clear as to what the other issue is - can you give steps to reproduce the problem?

Hi rorya, thanks so much for reaching out. That solves that issue with the months; the main issue is with the pivot table and chart in the "1. Num. of Req. by Month" tab. 2020 as a whole comes up on the chart when you filter it down, but the moment you filter 2020 by months (i.e. January 2020), the data shows up in the pivot table but nothing comes up on the chart. Obviously the same thing happens when you use slicers, and I'm not sure what's causing this because it doesn't seem to be a data issue, if it's showing properly on the pivot table.

If you filter down to a single month, you can't see anything because your chart type is line with no markers. For one data point, there is no line, and you've opted for no markers either, so nothing displays.

Interesting...is there a chart type that would actually show this once filtered by a specific month?

You could just add markers to the chart, or use a column chart for example.
