Drop down menu for decimal places

Currently using office 2016. I would like to create a drop-down list that will automatically change the decimals inside a data set.

Re: Drop down menu for decimal places

Hi wilsonjr1986: Welcome to the forum.

A couple of things come to mind:
    1. Create a data validation list allowing for the values into a cell of the dropdown list containing your decimal places.
    2. Use conditional formatting in your data set that examines the cell with the dropdown, and applies a format based on the the value that cell contains. Apply custom formatting rules. (=IF(B1=.01,apply format) etc. . .

A messy project. Perhaps the other forum members know of something less taxing.

    Pete
