Seeking help finding the most recently value in a column (sample workbook included)

    Hi All,

Hopefully this works! I'm brand new here, looking for help. I have a personal financial document I've made to track financial progress, and I have attached a sample doc with all personal info removed.. at least I think. Hopefully that worked. I also inputted some random fake dollar amounts just to help show how it works.

If you open it, you can see the columns are my different financial accounts, and column M is the total for that day. Each row is a day.

Years back, somebody helped me come up with the formula N1. If you look at N1, you'll see what it does is it finds the most recent value inputted into column M. It has to find the bottom most row with any value in it, and displays it there.

Basically, my goal & reason for thread is I want to repeat this, but for column O, which will effectively give me the most recent number for my money invested, so it won't count home equity/total net worth. For whatever reason, I haven't been able to copy/paste that formula and replace M with O to make it work. Column O is structured a little different, but I tried editing it to be like column M and I still can't get it to work.

Can you help me have a single cell near the top that tells me the most recent value in column O (that's an oh, not a 'zero') just like the cell N1 does?

    --------

Bonus points if you can help me figure out my other small issue. On the rows, I have a formula that highlights the current day. So if you look at row 3,973, that is today and it's highlighted. For whatever reason, it's actually highlighting the day before today, not actually today (Nov 28th) so Nov 27th is highlighted. No idea why, my PC knows the right date, lol.

    Thanks so much!

The equivalent formula for column O is:

Bonus point question. Edit the conditional formatting for column A which says

    Change that 7 to a 6.

    Hmmm.

I'm copy/pasting your first formula into a cell, and it's just showing me #VALUE!, it's not working. Any idea why?

I'm really excited to figure this out, I look forward to your reply.

edit: Regarding the highlighted date formula, I actually can't remember where that formula is to edit from 7 to 6. Do you know where? It was a long time ago lol. Thanks

Edit: After some Googling, I realized I had to enter it using Control+Shift+Enter, I think that did it! Can't just copy/paste it. Thanks so much.

First go to column A, then
