Post Persistent Moving Border After Pasting

    Hi there,

If I copy and paste some data, the range that I copied from becomes outlined by a "moving border."
So far, so good. Now, if I hit the spacebar the border goes away, but if I click on a new cell with the
mouse, the moving border returns. The only way I can get rid of the moving border is to copy another
range, which only moves the problem to a different area on the worksheet.

I know the moving border is a signal that there is data on the Clipboard. And I know that I can get
rid of the border by hitting the Esc key, but in many years I've never had to do that and it's not
    really a good solution.

Is this new? Have I mistakenly changed a setting and, if so, where is it? I can't figure out how to get
    rid of this thing.

    Anyone have any relevant input?

    Thanks,

    newbieobjectcoder

Try just hitting the enter for the paste.

Thanks. Interesting - but it doesn't seem to work for "Paste - Special" situations.
Still, that pretty much gets me where I want to go.

    Seriously, is this new?

I've always been hitting delete on a blank cell or just ignoring the "marching ants"

Just hit "Esc" to clear the copied border; works for me.

O.K. then - thanks. Ever come back to something after a few years and swear it was different?

Anyway, I appreciate the help very much. Have a great week/end.
