Hi,
In the attached ‘Distribution’ workbook, you will see data in the Ledger sheet distributed to the sheets titled Mike, Tim and Vince? These examples were all hand entered to show what I’m hoping can be automated with Excel commands. As seen, the ‘3rds’ option would take the total amount for that particular line, divide it into thirds and post this amount to each person while the ‘other’ option could send different amounts to the person of choice.
Thanks for any help in this matter.

First of all, GET RID of all merged cells. They are entirely unnecessary and will make solutions much harder to provide. They should never be used.
Please explain this result for Mike:

Mike has only ONE item with an x, so where have the others come from?
Can the layout of the ledger change? A willingness to be flexible here will make life a lot easier.

From the Ledger sheet, four items were posted to Mike. He is responsible for 100% of the groceries, one-third of the rent ($30.00), partial payment of the car ($35.00), and one-third of the misc expenses ($25.00). The Ledger layout can absolutely be altered if it makes life any easier. 'Merged Cells' message received loud and clear, thanks for the tip and thank you for you help in this matter.

Yes, I briefly did and it looks solid. Unfortunately for me to learn, I need a lot of time to decipher the commands as I am only an occasional user. This translates to an evening job and it is morning right now. I have 75 acres of almond trees that need my attention during the day. I sincerely appreciate your expertise, time, and effort in response to my inquiry.
