    Import data formatting

I have a text file (.txt) with a single column of data. I would like to import that data into 6 columns.
The data contains text/numbers. The first 6 data are the 6 column headers and the data is listed as column 1,2,3,4,5,6 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc. It seems I used to be able to transform import data like this in the past (?). I could be wrong, it was such a long time ago.

    Re: Import data formatting

On the Data tab you can see an option (towards the left-side) of "From Text/CSV". If you select this then you will be able to import your file. Excel will enter the Data Import Wizard which has 3 panels to guide you through the process (specify fixed-width or delimited, delimiter, type of data etc.)

    Hope this helps.
