    Odd File Issues

I have a file that is shared on our company drive. You can open it up and have another file open, but if you close the file and try and open it up again it will not open up until you close all other excel files and double click it again. This is a problem because some people use it multiple times in a day, but only one person can be in it at a time so they close out of it after. It for some reason locks the file from editing saying someone is in it. Even though it is closed on the persons computer who just used it. I am pretty stumped, I have checked all my macros and none of them would cause this interaction. It appears to not release the lock until the person who last used it closes out of all of their excel files.

Update: Even though said file is closed when you close the other excel files it asks if you want to save the closed file. It is like it is hooking into the other files.

strange, but I've had similar issues in the past using workbooks with hidden windows. Do you have any of these? If so you should be able to see them under Window>Unhide

Oi mate your a damn life saver. I completely forgot I opened up another window to easily transfer some content. I hid it for some reason and that was staying open because I removed the auto close workbook on save macro as well. Two mishaps that ended up causing the issue.
