    Number format problem

    Hello Everyone,

I have a really annoying problem in my excel.
Every time, I type a number in Excel, it always divide it by 10000 whatever decimal format I put in.
For example, if I type 5, the result in the cell I typed in will be 0.0005.
If I want my excel to have 5 in the cell, I need to type in "5." or "50000".

I don't know why and how is this happen in this pc. Please help me.

    Thank you

    Re: Number format problem

    Welcome to the forum.

No way of knowing without seeing the workbook, but it is probably as a result of some custom formatting or setting.

    Re: Number format problem

Click on File - Options, then in the Advanced section at the top, uncheck the option for 'Automatically insert a decimal point'
