    How to make first criteria Vlookup Partially match ( not talking about the approximate )

    Any answer without changing the cell format

    a1=100 light b1=bob
    a2=200 light b2=john
    a3=300 light b3=alex
    a4=400 light b4=melissa
    a5=500 light b5=bonne

    a8=300
    a9=VLOOKUP(A8,A1:B5,2,0) (This does not work)

    How to change the bold part to make it work?
