Low pdf resolution from Excel for Mac

Hi, just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Using Office 365, I have been trying to export some charts from Excel on a Mac to a pdf file using the standard Mac preview/pdf export function (in print or export to) but they come out as very low resolution. There appears to be no settings available to adjust this.

The same chart exports out sharp and clear from a PC (using the standard Microsoft print to pdf). The difference should be clear in the attached image (Mac export on left / Windows on right). Fonts are also not always correctly laid out on the Mac export (it appears to ignore certain font sizes?) but are again fine on the PC export.

I'm not keen to spend hundreds of dollars a year on an Adobe Acrobat subscription to export a pdf once or twice a month. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing, or is anyone aware of another option for 'printing' a pdf from Excel on a Mac?

    Thanks!

Re: Low pdf resolution from Excel for Mac

    Hi Jan,
I've attached a sample of the chart and an export from my Windows PC using the "Microsoft Print to pdf" option in the Print window.
Unfortunately I don't have the Mac to do an export from that right now, but I'll try and upload one later in the day (or, if you have a Mac, please try with the attached spreadsheet sample)
    Thanks
    Tim

doing a little research. It seems that this MAC OS problem has occurred before in powerpoint back in 2018/2019.
