Auto Fill Blank cells in column

Hi, this is probably really basic. But see attached sheet. I need to be able to total the points for each name. The data is downloaded with gaps from another management system. At the moment I'm copying and pasting the name down so I can then use a pivot table. This is really laborious as I have hundreds of real names and 1,000's of data entries across the names.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Helper column C.

    C1:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    C2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    copied down.

Then, either copy and paste special column C over column A, or use column C in your Pivot Table.

Or, you could use VBA to fill in the gaps in column A.
