One formula to contain multiple conditions

    Hello,

I have two sets of variables in the excel sheet i.e. Dimensions and Weight. If either the dimension or weight changes the slab also changes. I am trying to solve this by using AND and IF function but I am a bit stuck. Excel.png

I am attaching the screenshot of the problem. Can any one guide my regarding this.

Please see yellow banner on how to attach a sample workbook: pictures are of little value.

And please ensure to get your limits right i.e <= or = or >= as these are not obvious from your picture.
If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED.

Re: One formula to contain multiple conditions

See the attached where I have modified the FEE table: I suggest to use codes (see column B) to identify which "slab" a package belongs to. Even using codes, a formula solution is going to be messy.

I would consider using a VBA function to determine the cost.

And the dimensions (units) do not align with those in the FEE table (inches vs ?) Which criteria have "priority" - package dimension or weight ?

Re: One formula to contain multiple conditions

    Hi,

I am attaching an updated sheet. There are two tabs one tab "Fee Slabs" contains the formula that I have tried to make and it is seems to be working fine when I give the dimensions but when I paste the formula in the data sheet it is not showing the desired results. There are multiple conditions like Height, Length, Width and Weight all have to be in the specific limit to show the desired cost.

Re: One formula to contain multiple conditions

I have a formula; however, it yields different results than those in column H in most instances.
The formula for cells G2 and down is:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

This formula yields 3.54 for cell G2 whereas cell H2 displays 4.52.
It seems to me that the formula is correct because the height is 11.18 which is less than 18, the length is 7.28 which is less than 14, the thickness is 1.61 which is less than 8 and the unit weight is 0.15 which is less than 0.375 (row 7 on the Fee Slabs sheet).
Let us know if you have any questions.
