Cell reference question when sending workbooks to other people

I have two workbooks that combine to generate warehouse pull sheets. One is the user file that contains the information a user can safely edit. The other is the pull sheet file that uses the information in the user file to do the math and determine a technician need. Originally this was all one big file. But that was problematic because the users at other locations are even less excel educated than I am. So they would edit out formulas and such. I split the file to hopefully lessen the issue.

When they detach the files as long as they are saved to the same location shouldn't the internal cell references change to the new location?

    Example Formula:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
If "connie" saves both files to her chosen folder I thought the internal links would reset themselves since they were "next door" to each other.

I don't my learning. So if the answer is too long to comfortably type out I will be happy to follow a link. Thanks for looking.

If Connie opens them BOTH from her location and then saves them... aren't they OK??

I haven't explicitly asked if both files were opened and saved. I just assumed it was. I am currently editing out the stuff pointing to my computer and I will explicitly tell them to open, save, close, save again if prompted. We'll see. Thanks for the tip.
