Question Auto Format XLOOKUP or IF in Case of 'Not Found' or 'FALSE'?

    *edited

Wondering if anyone knows an easy way to "flag" a cell automatically so it can be easily formatted if an IF statement combined with an XLOOKUP returns the 'value_if_true' value instead of the 'value_if_false' value.

-For clarity, I've attached a simple example workbook that better illustrates my question.
-In the workbook, G5 and G7 need to somehow be conditionally formatting to signal that their values came from column D instead of C.

    Thanks!

I think you need to mock up what you mean - may be doable with conditional formatting.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

Apologies - poor explanation on my part. I've since revised the question and attached an example file. Thanks!

    CF rule for G4:

    =XLOOKUP($F4,$B$4:$B$8,$C$4:$C$8)=0
