Want new file to show actual creation date instead of template creation date

I wanted certain attributes in all my spreadsheets such as a header that shows the print date and time.

Research led me to create a blank spreadsheet with that header therein saved to my XLSTART folder with a name of “Blank.xls”. And, every time I start Excel this file is loaded, serving as a template.

The problem is when I create a new spreadsheet based on this template file, it has 05/11/2020 date as its creation date (‘cause that must’ve been the date when I created the template) instead of, let’s say “today” when I created the new spreadsheet.

And, further, it seems that I can’t change the creation date.

This is misleading to see a spreadsheet that I just created today with a 2020 creation date.

Any work arounds?

Either, a better way to create a new spreadsheet with the headers that I want, or the process for changing the file attributes?
