Find a specific amount charged at a specific date

    Hello,

I have 2 sheets. In sheet A I have 50,000 Bank transactions on Column A and their dates on Column B and in Sheet B I have about 1000 transactions in column A and their dates on Column B. I want to see, for example, whether $10 on Jan 3, 2022 from sheet B was refunded to me in Sheet A or not. To do so, I can do a manual search in sheet A and find all the results matching the $10 deposit, and see if any of them happened on Jan 3, 2022 or not.

Is there a formula I can use instead of checking every single 1000 entry manually?

    Thanks

A Vlookup or an index match could work for that. However it gets a little more complex if you’re trying to match on two items at the same time, then it might be an index match match. It’s difficult to give you any good advice without seeing what you’re trying to do. An index match might work well if you’re only looking for a single date, however if you’ve got multiple transactions on the same date and it becomes more complex.

You might consider uploading a sample workbook with enough examples and it did show what you want and your expected results.

On Sheet B use this formula in C2, if your data starts in row 2, and fill down:

This is an array formula. After typing in the formula, do not hit ENTER--hit CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER. You have done it correctly if the formula in the formula box has {braces} around it. You cannot type in the braces; they are just an indicator that it is an array formula.
