conditional formatting- before today, another after today passes

Hi, I have created an Excel spreadsheet- bill payment tracker. Using the column with dates of bills that "need to be paid by", I've used conditional formatting to background fill colours for 2, 7, and 10 days before they are due.

What I can't do, is use conditional formatting to background fill the cell with a colour when "today's date" has come and gone. What I'm getting is a conflict with the above, because the rules mentioned above, point to past dates (with respect to "today"). Note: when I prioritise the order of rules, it didn't work.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Edward- from Australia

I finally figured out a work around (see attachment). It isn't sophisticated, but it works.

Maybe someone else can suggest a better more concise way to get the results?
