Creating dependent cells based on a drop-down list

I am trying to create an excel doc that lets various users pick their name from a drop down and then add information to certain cells.

Once another user changes the drop-down to their name, the information for the previous user is retained but reset for the new user.

So when the first user changes the drop-down back to their name they can continue to input the information where they left off.

Is that something excel can handle?

Any advice is much appreciated.
