    Filter function based on length

    Hi Guys and Girls,

I work in a fairly large company and our Excel files are large.

So, im trying to master the =filter function, which is great.

Do you guys if its is possible to use the =filter function with the =len function?

This is something specific, i have a large sku list where the description of a product has two sku-number.
One of them is old, has only six characters and has been replaced by a new sku, which has seven characters.

Im trying to filter them based on =len, but im unable to find anything about it on the web, so therefor im seeking some help here.

Is this possible? And how would the formula look like?

Yes, it is possible, is the short answer.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook. Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Did you not try this?

    =FILTER(A1:B16,LEN(A1:A16)=6)

    =FILTER(A1:B16,LEN(A1:A16)=5)
