    Prevent Unwanted Calculation Interruption

I posted this question previously, but the forum ate it.

Another user posted about this problem in 2013. Unfortunately, he had the same experience as I: people told him that he wasn't experiencing what he described.

The problem: while performing an extended calculation, Excel allows itself to be interrupted every time the wind changes direction. If it's on auto recalc, it goes back to square one and starts over. If it's on manual, it stops with a "Calculate" reminder in the lower left corner.

To repeat, this is not what everyone experiences. It is what that other user and I have experienced.

I accept that (if the previous time is any indicator) virtually nobody will understand what I am saying. I'm posting this mostly for posterity. If another user has the same experience within the next few years, perhaps s/he will chime in with a solution.

I have not experienced this before. But that doesnt mean it doesnt happen, or that it didnt happen to you.

Excel is an extremely complex and deep program, and as such, a combination of unique factors could indeed cause some users to experience things that more others dont.

(sorry, I know this doesnt help solve your problem, but rather, it aims at letting you know that we dont think you are making this up.)

Well taken. Thanks. With luck, someday this mystery will be resolved.
