date automatic update formulas not updating automatically after adding a footer

I have a spreadsheet that I input the date for Friday (the start of my week) and each day of the week after has the formula =A1+1 in cell A2, and A2+1 in cell A3, etc. My dates updated automatically just fine when I input the first date, but as soon as I updated the sheet with a footer, the dates won't update automatically when I input the date on Friday. Is this a bug? How can I fix this?

I figured out why this was happening. It seems as soon as I added a footer, the Calculations Options automatically changed from Automatic to Manual for some reason. I still think this is a bug because I didn't even know about that option, so I did not change it myself. I have no idea how adding a footer would chance Calculations Options.

Can anyone replicate this problem, or is it just my spreadsheet?

On MS 365 i cannot replicate this. The only idea I can think of is you changed it to Manual calc on a another workbook while this date workbook was open, which caused it to automatically change both to MANUAL. really unsure unfortunately.
