Flag dates that have passed with message and fill color

Hi. I have a question, so I need some advice from you. I have a certain business table in Excel with 1000 rows in which are 1000 different dates. I need a function that would determine whether something is valid or not based on whether that day has passed. For example, if the date is 05.01.2022, then in a separate column the function throws NOT VALID and colors that field in red. Likewise, if it is valid, it should turn green. I tried the if function where I did if (the date field being examined)>(the date field where the today function is already typed) but it won't extend the function to the other 999 dates. If anyone knows, I would be grateful. Greeting.
