Compare and replace colomuns with names

As a result, I want the names in column A (with matching value in B) in column C. An additional problem is that there are more names in column A than in column C.
These extra names may be removed. So the important thing is that e.g. A: Aberasturi J. & B:4; A: J. Aberasturi & B: 4 becomes.

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Compare and replace colomuns with names

Okay, I think I know what you are after here.

Since columns A and B are related, but C is not, I am going to put a blank column between B and C so "F. Lastname" is now in column D.

I assume you want to bring the points from column B over to column E after matching the names.

You just have to switch the order of the name before you use a lookup formula such as INDEX MATCH.

Please see formula in column E of attached workbook. I would post it here, but I want to make sure it translates to your regional settings correctly.

Thanks! The only problem now is that there is a name with an accent (é,ç,à...), the formula gives an error (#N/A)
