Can I change the background color of a cell when it is selected?

Hello,

I am a big fan of dark themes to help save my eyes and am creating some custom templates to do so.
The current theme I have is working well for me but there is one issue that is preventing it from being very usable.

I am using a dark colored background with white gridlines and would like to use white text to make it readable however when editing a cell, the background of that cell is white, making it impossible to see what I am typing.

Is there a way to change this color?

I filled a group of cells to the color black, and used a white font color to add some values. The cell remained black while typing. Is it a built in theme that might be hosing your plans?
