Can excel search multiple things and select at once?

I've been given an excel workbook with multiple sheets.

Sheet A has all of our banking info on it including cheques and dates they were posted.

Sheet B has a list of cheque numbers and when they were sent out.

I need to find all of the cheque numbers in sheet A listed in sheet B, and I need to put the date the cheque was posted from sheet A into sheet B for that cheque.

Is there a way that I can search multiple cheque numbers from sheet B in sheet A and copy those lines into a third sheet? I was thinking of doing that because then I can just copy and paste the posted dates into sheet B rather than using the find function 400 times(literally).

Any suggestions welcome!

This can be done easily with formulas, and it could be done on a third sheet, but we can't give you actual formulas without seeing what data you have and what columns it is in. I suggest you prepare a sanitized version of your file that removes any private data, just leave check (sorry, American here) number and dates as they are now.

I added a column to sheet B because I'm not clear on what you would want the hypothetical third sheet to look like. I assumed the last column is cheque number, but those do not all look like cheque numbers to me. I added another column for date cleared.

Cheque #154907 is the only one found in both sheets.
