    Reload/Reopen file version

    Hi forum,

    Newbie here.
I haven't used Excel for 4/5 years or so whilst I've been out of office work, so need some help refreshing my memory

I recall there being an option to re-load (or re-open) the original file, for circumstances when you want to discard all the changes and start again.

Does anyone know what this option is called?* If it still exists?* Or if it ever existed in the first place?!

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

It s different in Excel 365. Go to File | Info | Version History and take it from there.

Discard all changes since what point of reference? If you want to discard all changes since the last Save, you can just close it without saving then open it again.

Otherwise it's not clear what you have in mind. I know of no way built into Excel to reload versions prior to the most recent Save. If you use a cloud storage service like OneDrive or SharePoint, those services will keep a version history, but that is true of any file and not specific to Excel.

If you want to discard all changes since the last Save, you can just close it without saving then open it again.
In 365, this would require hitting the Undo button many times, because most people will be using the defaults save as you work setting.

What I have referred to gives access to every save that Excel has made since you started working on the document.

Since creation? Or since the file was opened in that session?

Since creation or the first time saved to the user's machine and opened.

This seems to be a OneDrive feature integrated to Office rather than a native Office feature. Do you use OneDrive to store your Excel files?

Yes, as will the majority of people with a default MS365 install.

Let's wait until the OP has had a chance to comment.
