    use wildcard in if formula

    have been trying to use this formula in the attached spreadsheet =IF(B7=K$5&"*",C7,"NOMATCH")
    i want to return the number in column c when column b matches k5 (using * wildcard)
    formula doesn't work

    help would be appreciated
