Auto Data input on rolling sheets

    Hi

This is a bit of a confusing one so unsure how to word it.

I am creating a data sheet for cricket stats.
Sheet 1 is the record of the total datas for each particular players as it will continually update as i input data per game. That part is easy for one player (sheet 2). However, i will over time add new sheets for each player i have to input data for.

I will need to name the sheets the players name so i understand the formula will need each name for each sheet but i have 10-20 data set points that will need to be manually fixed and thats just time i do not want to waste.

So is there a cheat way to pre-fill the formula so as i make a new sheet for each player, i do not need update each formula to find the data from the player sheet.

Let me know if this does not make sense

This can be done with VBA. Basically it involves having a template sheet and copying it to the end of the workbook and renaming it.

We'll need a sample workbook with the template sheet and possibly a sample sheet for a player.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

    Hey

    Sorry for the late response

See attached and only focus to the two named sheets. "Score Template" is the sheet i will copy onto a new sheet for each individual player (so could be up to 50 sheets). The "record Template" is the sheet i am hoping to have an automatic function so that when i input a new sheet for a new player, a new row will automatically start recording the selected values. I know i can use LOOKUP but then i will have to manually change numerous codes every time for each player so i am hoping to avoid that with an automatic function.

    Cheers

I would say that it's one thing to store data, it's another thing to display it.

This means that the best way to proceed is to store the game records in just one spreadsheet and then prepare another spreadsheet to show each individual score, just by selecting his/her name, if you do so you won't need VBA code.

I sorta understand that. The stored data is the individual sheet for each player. I then was 'hoping' to have a sheet that will have all the players on one sheet (of their total results) so i can compare between players.

    How would VBA work?
