Using INDEX MATCH in place of OFFSET Functions

    Hi all,

I have the following attached file for Budget, where I use OFFSET to get the numbers to the main sheet.
Due to the very huge size of the budget workbook, it will take hours for me to open it and I think that is because of the OFFSET function.
My question is how can I use INDEX MATCH in the red tab in place of OFFSET and get the same exact results?

    Thank you all
    Budget.xlsx

    OK - thank you.

    You could try INDEX MATCH:

    =INDEX('Hotel PY'!$D$47:$Z$47,,MATCH("MTD",'Hotel PY'!$D$3:$W$3,0))

Re: Using INDEX MATCH in place of OFFSET Functions

You could also look up on the row like this:

    =INDEX('Hotel PY'!$D$44:$Z$48,MATCH($B6,'Hotel PY'!$B$44:$B$48,0),MATCH("MTD",'Hotel PY'!$D$3:$W$3,0))

OFFSET is best avoided because of its volatility.
