Replacing a cell's forumla with the forumla's results?

    Hi y'all,

I feel like this should be a fairly straightforward task, but I don't know how to go about it. I'm hoping you can help?

Let's say I have a cell, (B1, for example), with a simple forumla in it:

    =SUM(A1:A3)

    And, let's say that A1 = 2, A2 = 4, and A3 = 6.

The forumla will produce a value of "12" in the cell B1.

Is there a simple way of replacing the forumla in B1 with the number 12? That is, I'm looking for a way to replace a formula with the result of the formula... locking the value into the cell, as it were.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Click on cell B1
    Ctrl+C (to copy the cell)
    THen Edit/PasteSpecial/Values
This will remove the formula in B1 and replace it with the Value which the forrmula was returning. (It will lock in the current value.)
