Opening multiple excel files at once

I open four specific excel files at once every day and would like to be able to link them somehow so I can just open one of them, and the others willl automatically open. It's a hassle to have to open each one individually every day, since they're in different locations.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can accomplish this?

Did you try to create shortcuts to each file and place them in your XLSTART folder?

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks for your reply!

The solution you offered I hadn't thought about, so that might work for me. But I seem to remember in previous versions of excel, if one document contained a formula that referenced a cell in another document, it would tell you when you opened the document that it was linked to another document and then ask you if you wanted to open the other file. Is there a way to accomplish this in excel 2003? I have a formula in one of the files that references cells in the other file, but they won't open simultaneously...I have to open each one individually.

    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, I'm still running Excel 2000 but, I doubt if you can't do the following in Excel 2003:

There's an option to ask to automatically update links (menu Tools->Options...then select the Edit tab, then select/deselect the 'Ask to update automatic links' checkbox). Also, you can try menu Edit->Links and switch the Update option between Automatic & Manual to see if you get the prompt for the linked files...

    Hope this helps,

I tried both of your suggestions, and neither quite did what I was hoping. I think I will use your first suggestion and see if that works well enough.

    Thanks again for your help!
