    Month not day

Hi I am trying to get excel to recognize the month rather than a day in the month. I am trying to make a spread sheet for monthly PM's at my work where as things come up on the monthly PM chart it's cell changes color. My problem is that when doing the conditional formatting the best I can do is to get it to only change on a certian day, but I need it all month long. Thanks.

Do you mean something like this:

Highlight your column of cells containing the dates (assuming A1:A?)
Click on Format > Conditional Formatting
Select from first drop down "Formula is"
In space for formula type: = MONTH(A1)=MONTH(TODAY())
Click Format and apply your formatting
    Click OK
    Click OK

All the cells in your column which have today's month will be formatted
