    Data Import

I am required to import data from MSN MoneyCentral. I am using Excel 2003, Office 2003 Pro. I have tried the query in excel, exporting from the site, and from edit query in excel (as the data is there). The data is retrieved but not imported. I was able to import from yahoo yesterday but now get the same useless message when I attempt to import stock quotes from yahoo finance. I import easily from other sites, so far, although that was the story with yahoo up to now. The message I recieve states: unable to open, followed by the site address, and the statement: The Internet Site reports that a connection was established but the data is not available. I have my Office fully installed, have XP Pro and have tried with my firewall disabled. I also have repaired my Office more than once. It appears as though I obviously can import so what is making data unavailable and therefore unimportable? Please pass along any ideas or clues as I am desperate. And, Yes, I HAVE TO import from MSN MoneyCentral using excel query. Hurumph

I was able to fix this trip up. If there is anyone else out there who ends up with this same frustration, there are several things which should be done to troubleshoot. However, you might want to start by using the reset defaults buttons, not just manually resetting!!!!, in all areas of your internet options, especially security and advanced tabs. Happy excelling!
