Returning the x value of a formula

The value of "cell A1" is "cell A2" percent of X. How do I write a formula
in cell A3 that will always return X.

    Hi!

Let me be clear: if A1 holds 30 and A2 holds 15, this tells me that A1 is 15% of X. OK? I am avoiding any formatting and using real numbers here. (General format for example).

If that is the case, the formula for A3 is 100*A1/A2.

If, on the other hand, your value in A2 looks like 15% but is actually held as 0.15, then the formula is = A1/A2.
