The issue has been resolved: I've been doing this wrong as I should have just added another item to the PivotTable.
Thanks anyhow!
---------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,
I work at a school. I've been asked to create a PivotTable where we have the top-row listing the student grades (ie: A+, A... to... F) and grand total - all which counts the number of students in each course, with each grade, and a final grand total. Everything here is OK...
Problem: I'm now trying to add a % of students on the row below each course; representing the % of students who received each mark in each of the classes.
I've tried using a "Calculated Field" option under the 'PivotTable', 'Formulas' menu option. After inserting a field called "% students" (using "Student_ID" as the count), and "Show data: as % of row", I get what appears to be the percentage for each... however, I noticed that it is not calculating this correctly. For example: I have one class with 2 students, each having different marks. The "B" student and the "C" student should represent 50% each for these grades, for the total class. However Excel is displaying it as 46.58% and the other as 53.42%
Can anyone help me sort this out please?!
Thank you,
Sab.
PS: I have noticed that when I look at the "Field Options" dialog, this row is calculating using "Sum" vs. "Count" (which I think is what I need??). However, all options are not selectable.
