    Numbered Lists!

This is probably easy to do but I’m really new to this stuff!
Is it possible for Excel to make a numbered list without me having to type
    every number? i.e.
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5 and so on…
Each number in the cell below!
I may need to type 1 to 6000 and I don’t fancy blisters on my fingers…hee
    hee! ;0)

    Thanks in advance Guys!

    Re: Numbered Lists!

There a couple of ways to do this.
If you don't have too many numbers you want to list, you can enter a 1 in a
cell. Notice that this cell, when selected, has a little square block in
the bottom right corner of the cell. Hold the Ctrl key down and put the
mouse cursor on that little block, hold the left mouse button down, and drag
that cell as far down as you want.
If you have a lot of numbers to list, do this. Enter a 1 in a cell.
With that cell selected, click on Edit - Fill. Select Series. In the
"Series in:" area, select Columns. In the "Type", select Linear. For "Step
value:", put 1. For "Stop value:", put your ending number, say 6000. Click
    OK. Done. HTH Otto

One way, put 1 in A1, press enter, select A1 again, type A1:A6000 in the
    name box above A1
and press enter, do edit>fill>series and press enter

Type in the first few numbers in adjacent cells. Highlight those cells and
place your cursor at bottom right corner. Cursor changes from fat cross to
thin cross. Click and hold down left mouse button and drag cursor in same
direction to desired cell further down .
