IF function

I have the following worksheet:
A B
1 546
2 451
3 584
4 214

Is there a way for me to introduce "1" so that it brings out instantly "546" and so on, without the need to use the "IF" function?

I'm no expert but I wanted something similar a couple of weeks ago and found a built in function called VLOOKUP. In the cell that you want the value to occur you put =VLOOKUP etc. The function wizard helps with what you put where. It might be worth having a play with.
