Exclamation How do I stop Excel from Automatically WRAPPING? Any Macro Scripts?

I use Excel to manage my database files. When a cell contents get long, Excel automatically wraps the cell!

There has got to be a macro script I can apply when the worksheet is opened.

The cell wrap was unchecked, however, the wrapping happens automatically.

When this happens, I get a very long cell that is annoying. I have to manually uncheck the wrap each time to have a managable spreadsheet whose cells are not longer than the displayed page.

This is not only slowing down my work but making my hands tired and frustrated.

It is appreciated if anyone knows how to stop Excel from automatically wrapping the cells.

    Thank you.

The only time I've seen excel turn wrap text on automatically is when I typed
    the alt-enter key.

Are you typing that (maybe for some kind of separator)???

You could record a macro that toggles that setting and run that macro whenever
    you wanted to fix it.

    No Alt-Enter

    Hi,

Thank you for this advice. I am not hitting alt-enter and don't even know what that did until now. I was simply pasting (alt-V) into Excel cells.

Maybe the text that I was entering included the invisible character for alt-enter.

I am still looking for a macro to put into Excel automatically stop or reverse this annoyance, even when I do type alt-[enter].

    Thanks!
