Basically I am trying to link a bunch of cells on this workbook to cells on another 10 workbooks. I need to do this for about 200 cells in each workbook and it is the same cells in each workbook i am linking to.
So I thought I would simply select one cell in the first source book then copy hat formula accross and down for my first 200. Then copy the first cell, change the source book, and repeat for the next 200 cells in the next workbook.
However I link the first cell, this links fine, but as soon as I edit the formula in any way, all I get in the bluddy box is the formula and not the cell values I have linked to. Which also means I cant copy the formula accross or down to grab the other cells I need, or copy the formula and simply change the workbook name to the other 9 workbooks I need cells from.
Whats more, when I go to edit/links menu, it then doesnt register there is even any links in the workbook (and the links *ARE* valid paths)!
Whats more, typing = and then selecting the cell in the other workbook now results in the same thing, a nice pretty formula and no bluddy values!!!! The only way at the moment I can get the values into my destination workbook is to copy the cell on the source sheet, then paste it and select 'link cells' in the paste menu. However after doing this, if I try to copy the cells down, it makes an exact copy so I dont get other cells in the source book, I get a copy of the same cell!!!
What the hell is going on. This is excel 2002 with excel 2002 formatted workbooks.
