    Neeeeeeed Some Heeeeeeelllllpppp

    Hello,

I am currently working on a spreadsheet that requires various different columns widths for items located over and under each other. basically i need two different spreadsheet layouts inside the same spreadsheet. is there any way that once i get the format i need for the top spreadsheet, that i can then freeze it so that when i work on the format for the lower spreadsheet, the top one does not change? Any help would be great. Right now the only way i know how to do this is to add extra columns and then combine cells. If you could somehow split the spreasheet and then get another COLUMN CONTROL ROW, (don't know if thats what it is called, but it's the row labeled, a b c d e...., that you can move to adjust column width) it would be really convenient.

    thanks

    Hi!

Columns run from top to bottom of the worksheet. You can't address them other than as the columns they are and you can't have a second set of headers. It's not like Word where you can have various configurations within tables or where margins and tabs give you the appearance of different columns.

You can change the cells cosmetically (using borders; centre across selection; and if you must/can, merge cells), but the fundamental addressing of cells won't change.

You could maybe contemplate two spreadsheets in split windows. It isn't quite what you are seeking but it might work for some purposes.

    Alf
