The topic of this thread relates to understanding how excel handles cell borders in conjunction with the "columns to repeat at left" setting of page setup.

I am hoping someone can explain the logic to getting this right.

Lets say that columns A:C are set to repeat. On the first page, columns A:F are printed. On the second page, columns A:C, and G-I are printed.

For each page, the entire viewable range is outlined with a double border, and each column inside has a single border.

The problem lies with getting the double border set to the right side of column F on the first page, while setting the border between columns C and G on the second page to be single. Usually (but not always) the first page comes out perfect while the second page (and later pages) have no border between columns C and G.

My initial thought was that you have to set the right side of F to be double, and the left side of G to be single. Again, sometimes that works but not always. Therefore I don't think I am approaching the task correctly.

If anyone understands the procedure to follow to get this right, please post.

Thanks in advance.
