Importing text file

I have a text file and i need to import into excel, within the import i would like to delete certain cells. I was planning to record a macro and get the code out of it. Then i would like to automate this within some sort of vbscript, so each time the script is scheduled or invoked it would then create the excel and run the import and that would create the final excel.

Any help, directions would be greatly appreciated.
