Greetings,
Is there a way to simulate the "*******" effect of password field in a normal excel cell, like via "Cell Format" or something.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm far from an expert but i do have a payroll sheet that i figured out a thing like this.
I went to Format, Cells, Custom and put in "*****" clicked Ok. You can put as many of these as you want, i just used five. You can change font size etc for your needs.
Then under "Protection" i clicked "Unlock" the cells, and i clicked "Hidden".
Then Lock the Sheet with password.
So the result is when someone inputs their password into a cell, it comes up as ***** in the cell. ALSO if i highlight the cell, the password does NOT show in the formula bar, so others cannot see your password.
Hope this helps.

No other ideas to get that result.
If you do the same as i have above only instead of keying "*****" put ;;; thats three semicolons. This will work on text as well as numbers The result is that the cell dosn't show anything.
