Total number of Characters in a Cell

Hello

I am not a huge user of Excel, but i have a small question and hope that someone might be able to help. I have a excel spreadsheet that was emailed to me and this has a lot of text in the cells (i am talking a couple of paragraphs per cell), my question is what is the maximum viewable characters in a cell in Excel? We are using version XP and 2003. I ask this question because the spreadsheet is not showing all the text in the cell. All the text is displayed in the Formula bar at the top of the screen but in the cell it is not showing. When i resize the cells / columns they resize a little but do not resize to the full contents. I hope i have made sence in this post.

If some one could shed some light on this subject it would be appricated.

he maximum row height is ; 409 points
Length of cell contents (text) 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar
