    Remove Startup Prompt

In an attempt to reduce the file size I separated my Estimate Workbook into two workbooks. I want to open the Estimate Workbook without being pestered by the Startup Prompt message box. The new Tables Workbook will remain closed. I clicked on "Edit/Links/Startup Prompt/Don't display the alert and update links". Then I closed Excel, saved the changes and rebooted. When I reopened the Estimate Workbook the Startup Prompt reappeared much to my dismay. Do you know what might cause this problem? Excel 2002 SP3.

    Hi, Kent. Check this setting:

    Tools>Options | Edit Tab |

uncheck the 'Ask to update automatic links' box. Click OK

Save and close your file, then reopen.

    All better, now?

    Remove Startup Prompt

Thanks for the tip. All is better now.
Can you help with my other ComboBox problem?
I moved my TablesSheet to a new workbook. Excel took care of the links except for the combo boxes. The ComboBoxes are still in the Estimate Workbook and the ListFillRange for each ComboBox is on the TablesSheet in the new WorkBook. Now the ComboBox drop down menus are blank. Is there a way to link the ComboBox on the Estimate Workbook to the ListFillRange in the Tables WorkBook? Excel 2003 SP3. Thanks again for your help.

I don't believe the ListRange can refer to another workbook, only another sheet within the same workbook.

You may need to copy and paste the list to the new book.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
