    Angry Excel Autoformats to hebrew!?

    Hi,

I'm creating a spreadsheet (Excel 2002 SP3) to track a number of our companies codes, and our codes are formatted like A10-1, A10-2, BM0-01 and so on.

When I put in A10-1, it Excel changes it to some foreign text (looks like hebrew), but in the formula bar at the top it shows 11/3/2005.

How do I get it to stop doing this? I like autoformat but in this case I don't understand what it is trying to do.

    Thanks.

    Try to put a ' before A10-1 ('A10-1)
