    Which formula should I use.....

    Hi there,

I'm building a contract, and I need specific cells from each page in the workbook to total up on a pricing sheet (still in workbook).

I've tried using IF commands to build this mammoth equation, it just isn't working. I'm getting quite frustrated, I've been working on this for a few weeks.

I'm new to such detailed formulas in Excel, and any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thank you!!!!

    Heather

say if you want to sum cell range from a1:a4 in all the sheets and have the result in c10.

you can use formulae in c10 as =SUM(Sheet1!A1:C4)+SUM(Sheet2!a1:a4)+SUM(Sheet3!a1:a4)+SUM(Sheet4!a1:a4)+.......

where Sheet1 , Sheet2 ..... are the sheetnames for which you want to totalup values

Thank you for the reply, however, I don't think I conveyed my point clearly....

I have a series of bidding sheets (7 sheets) in a workbook, I need the total from each sheet to copy to one cell in my pricing sheet on our contracts. The formula I have tried resembles this:

    =sum('Contracts'A$9$,'Granite'C$7$.........................) (just an example)

and I've tried the IF command with no luck.

My frustration is adding up faster than my numbers will!! HELP ME, PLEASE!!!!

Thanks for all the help!!! I look forward to a reply!!!!

Can you send your workbook to [email protected], for me to have clear understaning of your problem

If you don't want to attach the original workbook, just attach the similar workbook with dummy data.
